Why go organic?

At Cottonique, we believe that utmost quality is achieved only when handled without using artificial chemicals or genetic modification, and for good reason.

Organic cotton products are more supple and easier on your skin than regular cotton. It is stronger and more durable than most other fabrics. Though organically grown cotton may be difficult to differentiate from cotton that is conventionally grown, production of conventional cotton requires copious amounts of chemical pesticides, which has a harsh effect on the environment and on the workers’ health as well.

This means that most materials used today are not very earth-friendly. This is the core of “unsustainable” cotton farming. On the contrary, organic cotton is untreated and chemical-free. It is creamy-soft, and gets even softer with each wash. By choosing organic, you don’t only give your skin the purest cotton, but also support sustainable cotton farming.

To ensure that the cotton used in our garments is organically grown and responsibly processed, we source our raw materials from suppliers who adhere to recognized global standards for organic textiles. These suppliers follow stringent guidelines to uphold the integrity of organic production throughout the supply chain.

Global standards for organic textiles focus on voluntary but rigorous criteria for post-harvest processing, including spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, and manufacturing of apparel and textiles made with organic fibers. These standards emphasize the use of approved methods and prohibit the use of toxic chemicals in organic cotton farming.

Cottonique means quality and responsibility. From sowing to sewing, we take pride and pleasure in cotton that’s certifiably made from eco-friendly and chemical-free materials. We do not compromise our principles. By choosing Cottonique, you are making a statement that both can and must be possible.
