Wearing a bra is a part of everyday life. However, just all women wear them does not mean that they are always pleasant. Luckily, there are ways to make your bras more comfortable. Here are some of our tips:

Tighten the Straps

If you’re using a bra with stretchy straps, odds are, this bra could wear and tear with continued use and washing. In order to give them new life, especially if you have removable straps, you can replace the old ones with a color that is much closer to the color of the bra itself. 

Wash Before You Wear

If your skin gets easily irritated by your bra bands and straps, or if it scratches your skin and not in a normal way, be sure to wash it before you wear it.  While the washing instructions are different, washing undergarments before use applies to both synthetic and organic bras. Just remember that harsh soaps can ruin bra fabrics, so be sure that you read and follow the washing instructions before you do anything else. 

Be Careful How You Stow Them

After washing your bras, and you just like to toss them messily into one drawer, think again. Not storing your bra properly could lead to bumps and dents, especially on the cups and straps. For example, t-shirt bras should be hung up or stacked to avoid creasing the cups. 

Try Using Paddings

Everyone has uneven breasts and some bras make that more noticeable. You can either use silicone or fabric “cookies” or cutlets to even out extra space. Do not be afraid to use an insert for one side to make your bra fit more snugly. 

Wear Bra Liners 

Some bras, despite the fact that you did your research and found the right fit, can still cause discomfort. If the area where the cups meet your bra pinches you, a liner might be necessary to make you feel more comfortable. Organic bra liners such as the one we have here, can help you out in the sweat department. Breast sweat can cause itching, and may even be the reason for a flare-up if you have allergies. 

Do Not Get Just One Size

Cup sizes won’t always be uniform. Some bra styles require different sizes. A push-up bra may require you to move up a cup while a demi or lace style bra might mean going down a cup size. Just take your time trying on different band widths and cup sizes with each new brand and style, to help you choose the best fit.
